The “Science New Year Conference” Held at Shanghai Science & Technology Museum

From December 31, 2023 to January 1, 2024, the "Science New Year Conference" Technological Innovation Principal Space Station was held at the Shanghai Natural History Museum. The event was co-organized by the Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, the Steering Commission of Scientific & Technological Innovation Education of Shanghai Municipality, and Bilibili, under the guidance of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. 

Two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fan Chunhai and Xu Xing, and Research Fellow Jia Yang, deputy chief designer of lunar and Mars probes, as well as other front-line scientists and senior humanities educators, were invited to the conference to share cross-border exchanges between science & technology and humanities. A series of heavyweight guests’ sharing brought the conference to a climax. Other guests were also invited to the conference such as Zeng Fanyi, Director of the Shanghai Institute of Medical Genetics, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Cao Peng and Huang Xiang, health science talk show experts, Chen Zheng, associate professor at the School of Physical Science and Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University, and Black Man of Black Technology, the content creator of Bilibili, to tell scientific stories and demonstrate scientific and technological innovation through various forms that are popular with the public, such as talk shows, experimental performances, and music performances.

At the conference, the "Technological Innovation Principal Space Station" reviewed the outstanding achievements of Shanghai's science and technology innovation education in 2023, and released the collection of "Science and Technology Keywords of the Year" and "100 Children's Science Dreams". These keywords and dreams demonstrate scientists’ prospects and expectations for the future, and also demonstrate the power and charm of science.
